Genelle & Eric, Calamigos Ranch, Malibu Wedding Photographer

Genelle and Eric were married waaaay back in March at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu.  After posting a teaser here, finally, here is the rest of their beautiful wedding!  They had a peacock color theme, and used rich jewel colors throughout their ceremony and reception.  They also had all kinds of little do-it-yourself projects, my favorite of which was the various pieces of advice handwritten on cards and placed on tables around the cocktail area.  As you can see below, Genelle was a stunning bride… and Eric isn’t too bad himself:)

Genelle’s Vera Wang dress was totally unique

Kate Baker Floral Design provided the awesome flowers – the bridesmaid’s bouquet was one of my favorite ever!

The recessional is always one of my favorite moments of a wedding day – the joy and excitement is so much fun to capture.

Brandon captured this photo right after the ceremony was over

The first dance – then the DJ got the party going!

The most memorable moment of the night – in Genelle’s dad’s speech, he was recounting memories from when Genelle was little, and while talking about how she was his ‘little princess,’ Eric reached from behind his seat and pulled out a plastic crown!

And a picture from the photobooth!

Aleah and Mark, The Dana, – San Diego Wedding Photographer

Another beautiful day, another wedding with Emily.  Mark and Aleah’s wedding was held at The Dana in Mission Bay.  I hadn’t been there since it was remodeled a few years ago – it’s spectacular now!  Mark and Aleah each had a child they were bringing into their marriage, so they made special efforts to include their kids in the ceremony, first dance, and general wedding activities.  Aleah was another stunning bride – just look at her!  Some more pictures below:

Hanne & Broc, Bahia Hotel – San Diego Wedding Photographer

As part of my new blogging resolution, i’m trying to catch up with the zillion weddings that I did not blog over the past, oh, 15 months.  Starting with Hanne and Broc’s wedding, which I shot with Emily.  Hanne and Broc were married at the Bahia Hotel, with their reception bayfront.  As you can see, Hanne was an absolutely glowing, gorgeous bride.  It was a beautiful day out, with a bright blue sky, puffy clouds, the works.  Most memorably, Hanne’s family from Ecuador couldn’t attend physically… so they attended via Skype!  Her brother had the computer with the webcam set up on a special chair at the reception site, plus her mom held the laptop for toasts and cake cutting – both amusing and an excellent idea for couples when their close family is unable to make it.

j’adore these shoes!

Alex, 4 months Old

I have two sets of four month “portraits.”  On Saturday, we dressed Alex up in his little Christmas outfit – for what was likely the last time ever.  Since no one can rock the argyle/plaid combo like Alex, I grabbed the camera for some quick pics.  It was almost dark out, and our house lighting was less than ideal (and we were already running late), so I knew the “formal” four month pics would have to wait.  We managed to squeeze in his real four month pics Sunday afternoon.  I know there are so many photos, too many photos, but its just so HARD to narrow them down!  The range of faces Alex makes, the way he shows excitement, the big gummy smile… I just want to share everything with everyone.  To my little man: I love you more than words can express, and I am constantly amazed at how I love you more each and every day.

First, the real portraits!  Raise your hand if you are excited:

But Alex decided after a few that he was really more excited about his toy.

The argyle sweater vest. My fashionable little man:)

Daddy got behind me and made funny faces and noises… Alex liked:
But of course, at the end (like all true models), he ended up playing it cool!

Alex, 3 months old

I’m trying my best not to overload our blog with pictures of Alex, but it’s just SO HARD sometimes!  I’m usually terrible about taking personal photos – I always forget our little point and shoot when we go to family gatherings and special events, and when I remember it, it seems the battery is always dead!  And forget actually taking pictures of people: when Brandon and I went through our pictures of Bora Bora, we had like 2 million of the water, and 5 with either of us in it (and two of those were of me passed out drooling on a table in Tahiti while waiting for our connection… they will never ever ever be seen).  At the same time, I LOVE looking at pictures of myself as a baby.  So, i’ve made a point of bringing out the “real” camera for every month “birthday.”  It’s so amazing how babies grow so quickly (sometimes you can see the difference in just a few days), so I also try and snap a few pictures “just because” every week.  I’ll eventually get around to posting Alex’s one month and two month portraits, but for now, here are a couple from his three month portrait session (as well as a few others I snapped last week).

Drooly monster is starting to teethe a little:

And then I had to tell him that the Chargers weren’t actually playing in the Superbowl, which was clearly devastating:

Luckily, he had some happier times in the tub later on:
